Geektainment Weekly Blog Post – R.D. Van Houten.
February 20, 2018
What an amazing weekend, first of all. I had the opportunity to see Marvel Studios most recent film release – “Black Panther“accompanied by fellow Geektainment Weekly host, Ian Bensman. Our movie “man date” was a hit (even though we didn’t sit together, being the we bought the last two tickets available- still good seats though). The movie itself was spectacular! In my opinion it may have been one of the most action packed Marvel Studios films to date. The colors, cinematography, acting, and plot were certainly all top notch. Director Ryan Coogler hit a GRAND SLAM with this picture, perfectly weaving it into the current Marvel movie timeline. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend that you should go see it, and when you do would love to hear what you thought of it!
The rest of the weekend for me was spent doing some pretty heavy gaming on my PS4. Although I spent most of that time getting pwned playing NHL ’18 (by what were surely 12-14 year olds at mommy’s house), I still had a great time enjoying EA’s most recent NHL release. After being beaten too badly for too long, I had to switch up the game and do some pwning of my own on Star Wars Battlefront 2! The gaming was truly a great escape from the reality that I am not a Jedi Knight or Sith Lord and don’t own an actual Light Sabre.
The business of the week came back in full force on Monday as we continue to build here at New Radio Media and Geektainment Weekly. But, no matter how difficult a day may be, I always have my newfound love of audiobooks on Audible to calm me down and to keep my mind at ease. Right now I am enjoying listening to the Tolkien classic “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, narrated by Rob Inglis – which I highly recommend if you have not yet listened. I would love to go into more detail about it but it’s something I think you should just go and check out for yourself.
Until next time my fellow Geeks,
R.D. Van Houten
